Vivian Louise Overton

Vivian Louise Overton, 87, of Sellersburg, IN, passed away on August 28th, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 5th, 1933 in Louisville, KY and moved to the Sellersburg area in 1965. In addition to being a mother and wife, she and her late husband, Robert Overton Sr., owned and operated Overton’s Upholstering for 28 years. Her family and friends will remember her for her love of crochet and crafting and her ability to to get all those around her giggling in a matter of moments. Her great imagination led to many doodles and designs for new projects. She enjoyed collecting and could find a use for just about anything. Over the years she loved seeing her family grow and enjoyed her visits with her children, grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest D. Hines Whitler and Gertrude Ingram, her siblings, Yvonne Ibenthal, Wanda Stewart, and Kenneth Keller Whitler, her husband, Robert Overton Sr. and her sons, Larry R. Dones and Robert Overton Jr. She is survived by her brother, Ronald Hines and her seven children, Jerry L. Dones (Cathy), Cynthia L. Williams (Danny)., Terry G. Overton (Vickie), Steven W. Overton (Diane), Vickie L. Conner, Sharolyn J. Herring, and Suzanne J. Overton; her 23 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, September 4, 2020 and 9:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the funeral home Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana.
