

William D. “Chip” Embrey, 56 years of age passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 in New Albany, Indiana. He was born May 24, 1960 in Louisville, KY, and was a 1982 graduate of Indiana University. He began his sales career at the Louisville Courier Journal where he followed in his father’s footsteps as a 4th generation employee, and was most recently with Graphic Media Solutions as a sales executive. Chip had a great love for many things in life which included boating, fishing with his son, dad, and friends, Hoosier basketball, coaching basketball at both Graceland Baptist and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and handicapping thoroughbred horse racing. Chip was preceded in death by his father William D. “Bill” Embrey.
Survivors include his wife, Allison Crady Embrey, son, William D. “Trey” Embrey, daughter, Erin Embrey, mother, Mary Anne Embrey, sister, Sue Ann Stone, nephews, Chris Corbett and Ryan Stone, niece, Brittany Baker (Ty), great-nephew, Blake Corbett, and his beloved dog Pepper.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. A time to share memories of Chip’s life will take place at 7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
