Alfredo M. Vultao

Born in Santa Barbara, Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Antonio Vultao and Georgiana Martins, he came to the United States in 1975 and settled in New Bedford. While in Portugal, he served in the military.

Mr. Vultao had worked as a presser at Ronnie Manufacturing for many years.

Alfredo enjoyed gardening, telling jokes, playing cards and Dominos. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and sitting underneath his grapevine.

He was also a member of the Senhor da Pedra Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Anabela Silva and husband John, Paul Vultao and Kelly Vultao and partner Helder Ferreira all of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Kristine Silva and Logan Ferreira of New Bedford; two brothers, Joao Vultao and wife Maria of Canada and Raul Vultao and wife Natalia of New Bedford; a sister, Natalia Sousa and husband Adelino de Sousa all of New Bedford; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Jose Barreira, Maria Cordeiro, Carlos, Laura and Joao Barreira; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Silvestor and Antonio Vultao.

His Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 8 AM from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Flowers welcome or donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
