Born and raised in Fall River, Alice was the youngest of six siblings. She grew up during the Great Depression, but had happy memories of her childhood which sustained her throughout her lifetime.
She graduated from Notre Dame Academy and was an accomplished vocalist. When Alice met her husband, Aime, it was at a chance meeting. They moved into a three-tenement house on Earle Street in Fall River, and together they opened Aimes’s Auto Repair; a small successful business which is still operating today where Alice handled the back office of the business. Soon after, they moved to Somerset and raised four children; a daughter, Denise Woodcock, and sons, Michael (Joanne), Roger (Liz) and Mark (Alisa).
Alice had many talents. She was a skilled seamstress making all the clothing for everyone in the family. She enjoyed doing needlepoint where one project measured 4 x 6 when finished. She was also a master at putting together puzzles with 500 pieces or more in the same day.
Throughout the years Alice and Aime enjoyed traveling around the world. When Aime passed away after 64 years of marriage, she missed his absence but filled her days spending time with her family, whether going to cookouts, boating on the lake or chatting with family near and far on GrandPads. Plus, she adored being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Up until a few months ago she was a spry 92-year-old. She lived on her own, exercised daily and went out with friends. Our mom was full of unconditional love for all who knew her. She had a fun-loving spirit, was a remarkable woman, and we will all miss her presence. Per her wishes she will be cremated and a private ceremony for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
