Alice A. Marek of Fairhaven died Sunday, July 8, 2012 at home at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Peter Marek and Nellie (Bryda) Marek. She lived in Fairhaven most of her life and was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. During her lifetime she was a sample dress maker for many years. She graduated from New Bedford Vocational School Evening Practical Arts Classes. Alice liked to travel and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her house plants and outside gardens.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Emily Marek of Arizona and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Waldemar, Frank and Olga Marek.
Her visitation will be held at the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 9am -10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 North Front Street, New Bedford. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
