Born in New Bedford, he was a lifelong city resident. Arthur was a graduate of New Bedford High School. He was employed for 30 years at the Acushnet Co, retiring in 2009. He was kind and caring person, and had a big heart. Arthur was a hardworking man who enjoyed reading, learning and doing research.
He is survived by four brothers, Robert Bourgeois and his wife Mary P.) of Acushnet, Leonard Bourgeois and his wife Pauline of Swansea, Gerard Bourgeois of NC and Steven Bourgeois of RI; a sister, Jeannine Bass of FL; and his former wife, Angelina Viera and her husband John of Rochester and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Christopher Bourgeois.
His arrangements are in the care of the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.His Funeral Service and Burial will be private.
