Carlos Nogueira

Born in Cova da Piedade Portugal, a son of the late Antonio Carlos and Maria Emilia (Henriques) Nogueira, he grew up there and immigrated to America in 1974.

Carlos served in the Portuguese Navy before coming to America. He later worked as a machine operator and he also worked in construction. Mr. Nogueira was a longtime member of Clube Recorações de Portugal where he served as president and secretary for many years. He was a Benfica and sports fan.

He is survived by his children, Norberto Melo and his wife Linda of West Wareham, Margarida Melo and her companion Louie Luiz of New Bedford, Armando Melo and his wife Nellie of New Bedford, Rui De Melo and his wife June of Lawrenceburg, TN, Shelly Nogueira and her companion Carlos Miranda, and Jeffrey M. Nogueira of New Bedford; his siblings, Antonio, Irene, Beatriz (Mimi), Jaime and Fernanda Nogueira all of Portugal and Teresa Nogueira of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eugenio Nogueira.

His funeral will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. at ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. His visitation will be Tuesday 5-8 p.m. For online tribute/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com.
