Catherine T. Monteiro

Born in Taunton, a daughter of the late James and Anne (MacFarlane) Tainsh, she was a resident of Dartmouth for over thirty years.

She is survived by her husband, David Monteiro, owner of P&D Fruit & Garden in New Bedford; her daughter, Katelyn Monteiro of Dartmouth; and son, Matthew Monteiro also of Dartmouth; one brother, James Tainsh of Milford and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Thomas Tainsh.

Mrs. Monteiro was an alumni of Bridgewater State College. She was a social worker for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, walking her dogs, and watching the patriots. She was looking forward to becoming a grandmother in June.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 8 AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA, followed by her funeral mass at 9 AM in Saint Mary’s Church, 343 Tarklin Hill Road, New Bedford.
