Claudia M. Sherman

She was the wife of the late William E. C. Sherman.

Born in Mattapoisett, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Claudia (Gannon) Smith.

She is survived by her children, Patricia “Patty” Motta, her husband John and son Jason of New Bedford, Belinda “Pinky” Sherman and her spouse Cynthia Ferreira of New Bedford, David Sherman and his children, Trilby, Matthew and Jessica of New Bedford, William Sherman, his wife Joann and their children, Bill, Wendy, Krissa, Zebariah, Bernadette and Channon of New Bedford, Bruce Sherman and his son Patrick of Acushnet, Malcolm Sherman, his companion Sharon Isabelle and their children, Ryan, Andralene and Britney of New Bedford, Steven Sherman, his wife Tina and their son Peter of Dennisport and Kenneth Sherman, his companion Lea Lubrano and their children Erika and Christopher of Florida; two brothers, Robert Smith and his wife Carol and Toot Smith; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was also the mother-in-law of the late Christine and Diana Sherman.

She was the great-grandmother of Cailin Sherman and also leaves behind several other great and great great grandchildren.

Her visiting hours will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 4-7 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will take place at a later time in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her honor may be made to, Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
