
Dennis G. Taylor, age 70, of Acushnet, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 after a brief illness in Hathaway Manor. He was the husband of Jeannette M. (Jovin) Taylor to whom he has been married for the past 39 years.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Randolph and Doris (Roe) Taylor, he had been a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of New Bedford High School, he was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served as an Air Policeman from 1962 to 1966. He worked in the Carpenters Union for many years as a Plasterer and a Lathe.
He was a member of the American Legion in Acushnet and was an avid New England sports fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children; Jennifer Heys and her husband James of Dartmouth, David Taylor of Acushnet, Elizabeth Cote of Bridgewater, Michael Eadie and his wife Maria of Bristol, and Christopher Eadie and his wife Julie of Dartmouth, three brothers; Randolph Taylor and his companion Carole Smith of Fairhaven, Robert Taylor and his wife Althea “Sis” of Acushnet, and Paul Taylor and his wife Francine of New Bedford, eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Stephen Taylor.
His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 12:00NOON in the Rock Funeral Home 1285 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford. Visitation prior to his service from 11:00 to 12:00NOON. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions in his honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne at 1:45PM.
