

Born in Taunton, he moved to New Bedford at a young age and lived most of his life in New Bedford until recently moving to Buzzards Bay. He was the son of the late Pierre and Albina (Laplante) Pelletier and was the youngest of their 8 children.
Mr. Pelletier was a graduate of St. Anthony’s High School and was a partner of Crowley-Weaver Insurance Agency. Donald was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and was the proud recipient of the Victory Medal, American Area Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal and was an active member of the New Bedford VFW.
Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter Norma Beaudry and her husband Earl Dalrymple of Buzzards Bay, two grandchildren; Nichole Beaudry of Florida and Daniel Beaudry of Canada, two sisters; Jeannette LeBeau of Acushnet and Albina St. Gelais of Florida. He was the brother of the late Roger Pelletier, Armand Pelletier, Doris Gula, Lorraine Gula and Georgette Lavimoniere.
He will always be remembered for his devotion to his religion and his family.
His funeral arrangements are in the care of ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be held, Wednesday, November 2, 2011, from 4-7 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at St. Mary’s Church, 106 Illinois Street, New Bedford at 9 AM. Friends and relatives are invited to go directly to church. Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Road, East Sandwich, MA 02537-1401.
