Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Ernest J.V. and Sylvia (Santos) Gelinas.
Edmund was a simple man who loved his family dearly. He was very proud to have served in the Coast Guard and worked as a Mechanic for many years. He was a member of the VFW, a Karaoke DJ, and especially enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Melissa Bergeron and her husband Michael of Port Charlotte, FL and Jill Gelinas Jones of Fairhaven; a brother, Raymond Gelinas and his wife Jeanie of Acushnet; two sisters, Norma Ferro of New Bedford and Patricia Medeiros and her husband Daniel of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Ashley Contois and her husband Jacob, Tabitha Bergeron, Amanda Jones, and Nadine Jones; three step-grandchildren, Cara Bergeron, Michelle Skaar and James Bergeron; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Contois and Freya Skaar, and several nieces and nephews.
His Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00PM in the funeral home. Burial in Mass National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:15PM. Due to pandemic restrictions, please be mindful to wear masks and social distance.
