Eduarda C DaPonte

She was born on October 5, 1936 in Fernais da Ajuda, Sao Miguel, Azores and was a resident of Acushnet, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Manuel S. and Maria A. (Sousa) Camboia. Eduarda was employed as stitcher at Elco Dress and Madeira Twin for many years prior to her retirement.

She loved her family dearly, especially her grandson; she enjoyed gardening, cooking and helping others. Eduarda was a spiritual woman and a devout catholic.

Eduarda is survived by her children, Joseph DaPonte of Florida and Debra Faria and her husband Rui of Acushnet; a grandson, Dylan Faria and his fiance Paula French and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Steve, John, Arthur, Lourdes, Horacio, Antonio and Jose Camboia.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 9:00AM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford, MA 02746. Relative and friends are invited. Visitation Monday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
