Edward Cardoso

Edward Cardoso, 66, passed away on April 1, 2026. Born on February 2, 1960, Edward was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. He was the beloved son of the late Manuel Cardoso and the late Maria Carmen (Costa) Cardoso.

Edward worked as a manager at Aerovox Manufacturing and previously worked for Sunbeam Bakery. Through his years of steady work, he earned the respect of colleagues and acquaintances alike, carrying himself with quiet dignity and reliability.

Edward is survived by his sister, Linda Borges; his godmother, Maria Madalena Teixeira; his niece and nephew, Monica and Dennis; his uncles, Denis and Adelino Cardoso; and several cousins.

Edward loved music immensely and found enjoyment in arts and crafts. He also loved animals, and held a special place in his heart for his late dog, Bugsby. He was a member of the Senhore da Pedra Club, a connection that reflected his ties to community and tradition.

A private person by nature, Edward had many friends in the community, and his steady presence will be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
