Evelyn Langlois

A life-long resident of New Bedford, the daughter of the late Arthur and Alida (Gaudette) Bastarache. She graduated from Saint Anthony High School in 1950. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Senior’s, the French Cotillion, and served as a Girl Scout leader for many years. She was an avid reader, loved butterflies and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters; Debra LaPerriere and her husband Dennis of East Freetown and Donna Richard and her husband Dave of Dartmouth, four grandchildren; Craig LaPerriere of Plymouth, Erin Santos of Middleboro, Nichole LaPerriere of Freetown and Lauren Richard of New Bedford, six great grandchildren; Brittany Tainsh, Jakob and Samantha Walkden, Kendall Santos, Cosette and James LaPerriere., two sisters, Doris Baptista of California and Pauline Lacasse and her husband Ronald of Fairhaven as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 9 AM from the ROCK, Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joseph-Saint Therese Church, Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford. Visiting hours: Monday 4-8 PM. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
