Frank Condez, Jr.

Frank Condez, Jr., 78, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Beverly A. (DeSimone) Condez with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Frank (“Hinky”) Condez, Sr. and Mary (Marshall) Condez, he was a resident of New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth in 1988.

Frank was a graduate of New Bedford High School Class 1958 and U-Mass Amherst Class of 1962, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.

Frank began his career with his first job out of college working as an electrical engineer for Raytheon at the Sudbury plant. Over the course of his 42 years at Raytheon he worked at the Waltham and North Dighton locations, and retired from the Portsmouth RI location in 2004.

Frank was a member of the Panthers Athletic and Social Club and could be found every year at the Feast to the Blessed Sacrament listening to the bands and catching up with old friends. He enjoyed trips to the casinos to “throw numbers”, gardening and watching his favorite New England sports teams. He faithfully attended daily mass at St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford.

He is survived by his wife Beverly A. Condez and his son, Frank Condez, III of Dartmouth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 9am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church.
