Gary F. Viveiros

Born in New Bedford, a son of Fernando and Lydia (Bettencourt-Silveira) Viveiros, he was a lifelong city resident. Gary was a graduate of New Bedford Voc Tech and was employed as a truck driver for Schumacher Landscaping and Oiva Hannula.

Gary loved his family dearly, especially his precious daughter Sadie; he enjoyed spending time with his family, sailing and loved the Azores. As a child, he loved racing in the Azorean boat races and being involved with the Azorean Maritime Heritage Society. He was planning his big wedding in Faial, Azores for July 13, 2024. He planned to one day move there and start a business.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Sadie Viveiros of New Bedford, his daughter’s mother Sarah Pimentel; his siblings, Jamie Viveiros and his wife Vanessa of New Bedford, Glenn Viveiros of New Bedford and Jessica Viveiros-Gaffey and her husband Barry of Taunton; his nieces, Lilly, Lilah, Gabby and Mariana; his step-children, Kiera, Kylie and Connor; and his extended family and also his best friends, Gary, Lino, Brandon and Telmo.

Visitation Monday, October 10, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 9:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford.
