Henri J. Lemieux

Henri J. Lemieux, age 87, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Annette (Branchaud) Lemieux, to whom he would have been married to for 60 years in November of this year.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Antonio and Yvonne (Vincent) Lemieux, he was a life-long resident of the area.

Mr. Lemieux was a Steamfitter for the Local # 51, formerly Local # 77, for over fifty years before retiring and was co-owner of Lemieux Heating. He enjoyed bowling, telling jokes and was a member of the choir at St. Therese Church.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Jacqueline Guay of Florida, Normand Lemieux of New Bedford, Diane Wing of New Bedford, Ronald Lemieux of New Bedford, Joseph Lemieux of Boston, Phillippe Lemieux of New Bedford, Yvonne Dalbec of Acushnet, Giselle Camara of Acushnet, Laurent Lemieux of New Bedford, Jean Paul Lemieux of Fairhaven and Nicole Hellmer of Colorado; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild on the way; two sisters, Therese Vincent of Florida and Claire Churchill of Franklin; many nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Nicholas and brother of the late Alfred, Bernadette, Roland, Gerard and Eugene Lemieux.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass Friday, September 28, 2012 at 9 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
