

Jeannine B. Watts, 72, of Acushnet passed away Friday, April 7, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Stephen L. Watts who celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this February.
Born in Acushnet, a daughter of the late George and Simone (Desrosiers) Fahey, she was a lifelong area resident and a longtime member of The Acushnet Cultural Council where she held the position as treasurer.
She was also a woman of strong faith and was a devoted communicant, sacristan and wedding coordinator of St. Francis Xavier Parish as well as a past member of The St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Jeannine attended St. Francis Elementary School and Graduated from Holy Family High School in 1968.
She made her career in banking with Citizens Federal Credit Union retiring as Vice President. Then worked part time through Adecco with D.W.White Construction, Ocean Spray and Covanta SEMASS.
Jeannine was a past member of the New Bedford chapter of the AWBA, ORR Gridiron club, President and presently Vice President of the Women’s VFW Auxiliary, Post 6643 in E. Freetown.
She was happiest when spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a kind, caring, loving and compassionate woman who has helped so many through her charity work and donations, including Hospice, Camp Angel Wings and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Stephen S. Watts and his wife Christine (Langevin) of New Bedford; a daughter, Michelle C. Watts of Acushnet; three grandchildren, Brandon Watts, Breanne Watts and Madison Rogers.
Her siblings, Jacqueline Fahey of Acushnet, Roger Fahey and his wife Deborah (Decosta) of Fairhaven; Pre-decease by her sister Claudette (Fahey) Siler and her husband Carl and her brother Donald L. Fahey.
As her wish, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Brockton VA Hospital in loving memory of her late brother Donald L.Fahey.
The Watts family would also like to thank the Hospice staff of South Coast VNA for their professionalism, caring and compassion helping Jeannine and her family get through a rather tough ordeal with dignity.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet.
