Born in Newport, RI, a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Rita (Neto) Lopes, he was a longtime resident of Freetown. He was a graduate of the former Dighton High School. Joseph was employed at Polaroid as a Coating Technician prior to his retirement. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.
Joseph fondly known as Titu, loved his family dearly, especially his late wife Jane. He was known as a kind and gentle man with a warm and beautiful smile. He enjoyed playing Golf and traveling with his wife Jane. Joseph loved music and was a member of the Del-Vikings, performing the Jitterbug on the Ed Sullivan Television show in the 1960’s.
He is survived by his very special niece Alda Rosario of Freetown; a sister, Mary Hyman of Washington, DC and many loving nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mildred and Rosa Lopes and Deolina Rosario.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 10:00AM in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., East Freetown, MA 02717. Relatives and friends are invited.
