Kathleen May Lewin Gonzalez

A daughter of the late Joseph Lewin and Alice (Duchesne) Lewin Buaiz, she was born and raised in New Bedford and graduated from New Bedford High School. She lived in the city for most of her life before moving to Worcester to live with her son in 2014.

Kathleen worked as a Nurse’s Aide for Hallmark Nursing Home and formerly as a Mental Health Worker at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was devoted to her children and enjoyed watching their activities of skating, band and music.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Scott H. Gonzalez and his partner John Reeks of Worcester; two daughters, Sandra Medeiros and her husband Kevin of Hudson, MA and Lori Simoes and her husband, John of Assonet; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Gonzalez; seven grandchildren, Adam, Jocelyn and Lucas Medeiros, Miranda and Diana Gonzalez, and Kathleen and James Simoes; two brothers, Taft Buaiz of Minnesota and Anthony Buaiz of New Bedford; a sister, Maureen Fredette and her husband Vic of King George, VA; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late George Buaiz and Joseph Lewin.
