Lilianne S. McKay

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Francois and Alida (Dupont) Lapointe, she had resided in Fairhaven for the past 2 years. She was the wife of the late John E. McKay, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage, and mother of the late Edward F. McKay.

Lilianne worked at various local shops for many years as a stitcher. She loved spending time with her family and taking care of the stray kitties that would show up at her back door.

She is survived by her son, John D. McKay, and daughter, Janet DaSilva; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her godchildren, Carol Robert and Gigi Laine, and many nieces and nephews.

Lilianne was predeceased by her siblings, George, Armand and Lucien Lapointe, Sr. Laurette Lapointe, Sr. Beatrice Lapointe, Doris Masse, Jeanne Olivier, and Annette Lesiak.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 9AM from ROCK FUNERAL HOME, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., E. Freetown. Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Private burial at a later date.
