

Marjorie A. (Cousins) Quintin, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. She was the wife of Leonard “Lenny” S. Quintin with whom she shared 36 years of marriage.
Born in Winchester, the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Curley) Cousins, she lived most of her life in New Bedford. She was a communicant of St. John Neumann Parish.
Marjorie graduated from New Bedford High School and St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed a fulfilling career in pediatric, public health, and psychiatric nursing. Marjorie later went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from UMass Dartmouth. She continued her career as a BSN at the Brockton VA. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital for several years.
Marjorie’s warmth brightened the lives of those lucky enough to encounter her. Whether caring for her patients, supporting her family, or spending time with friends. She had a quiet, natural way of making people feel loved. Marjorie’s greatest joy was being with her family. She delighted in her time spent with her grandchildren, finding happiness watching them pursue their various interests. Marjorie also enjoyed traveling, playing scrabble, gardening, crocheting, and swimming with her sister. Her warm spirit and the memory of her sparkling blue eyes will nurture us all.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Ann-Marie Francis and her husband David of Rochester, Michelle Pires and her husband Christopher of Acushnet, Elizabeth Cormier and her partner John Fernandes of Needham, Christine Cormier and her spouse Giuliana of Amsterdam, Jennifer Cormier and her spouse Dianne of Middleboro, Rachel Cormier and her partner Tim Grady of Mashpee, and Jacqueline Giordano and her husband Billy of Oak Bluffs; a sister, Ann Cousins of Newton; 11 grandchildren Emilie Ford and her husband Matthew, Oliver Pires and his wife Krista, Timothy Cormier Rebello, Allison Francis and her fiancé, Frank Rivas, Alexa Francis, Arissa Francis, Ryan Giordano, Elena Giordano, Avery Cormier, Eva Giordano, and Emerson Cormier; two great-grandchildren, Patrick Ford and Hadley Pires with a third one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward Cousins.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10 a.m. in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., E. Freetown. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4-7 p.m. at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745.
