Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Bertram B. and Alice G. (Todd) Shelley. Mrs. Shurtleff was a graduate of New Bedford High School and enjoyed being a homemaker.
Survivors include a son: John Shurtleff and his wife Judith of So. Dartmouth, a daughter: Lisa B. Roedl and her husband Terry of Rochester, four grandchildren: John Jr., Shelley, Laurie and Barbara, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was one of five siblings.
