Born in New Bedford, a beloved son of John and Paula (Penton) Sullivan, he was a life-long resident of the area.
A 1995 graduate of New Bedford High School, Matthew went onto become a licensed Plumber. A gifted handyman, he was proud of having earned his Plumbers license and was always willing to help family members with his abilities.
An avid Patriots fan, Matthew shared his incredible enthusiasm for football with his father, his son and his friends.
Besides his parents, wife and son survivors include his loving sister, Stephanie Varian and her husband Steve; nephews, Nolan, Nasser and Nicholas; nieces Nora and Victoria; mother and father in-law, Maria and Armando Braga; sister-in-law, Brenda Rachel and her husband Christopher and brother-in-law, Mazen Anise.
His funeral and burial will be private.
