He graduated from Stonehill College and received his master’s degree from Boston College. He was an educator and administrator in the New Bedford Public Schools for over 35 years, first teaching French and Latin and later as Chair of the Foreign Language Department at New Bedford High School.
He was a deeply religious man and an active parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in New Bedford in his youth, where he also attended school through high school, and later at St. Francis Xavier Church in Acushnet where he attended daily mass and was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
