Tina L. Viera

Born in New Bedford, she was the beloved wife of the late Patrick Viera and daughter of the late Rocque J. and Dorothy A. (Sullivan) DeCotis. She was the long time, loving companion of the late Fred Garcia.

Tina was a graduate of Holy Family High School and dedicated many years of service to Hawthorn Medical, where she found deep fulfillment in helping others. Her kindness and compassion left a lasting impression on her patients and colleagues alike, many of whom she considered her second family.

Tina found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening, days at the beach, and sharing time with her cherished family, friends, and her beloved dogs, Kimi and Lacie. Despite life’s many hardships, Tina faced each challenge with strength and unwavering positivity. She was deeply loved and admired by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving sister, Katherine Norcross and her companion Paul LaBonte of Mattapoisett; sister-in-law, Ann DeCotis of New Bedford; a niece that was more like a sister, Deanna Vieira and her husband Victor; her godchild, Nicole Vieira and several nieces and nephews who she never forgot their birthdays. She was the sister of the late Rocque J. DeCotis, Jr.
