A graduate of New Bedford High School, Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Over the years, he worked as an entrepreneur in various roles, always bringing dedication and energy to everything he pursued.
Wayne was a man of many passions. He loved being out on the water—swimming in the ocean and boating brought him great joy. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a skilled track athlete in his high school years. Above all, Wayne cherished time spent with his family and his beloved bird, Kiwi, who was always by his side.
He is survived by his loving brother, Mark Silveira and his wife Diane of New Bedford; his children, Mark Espinoza of Arizona and Janelle Gray of Rhode Island; his grandchildren; his several nieces and nephews, and his long time friend, Linda Brennan. He was predeceased by his brother, Detective Lieutenant Paul Silveira of Mattapoisett.
His visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a 5:00PM Service at ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to The Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org
