Anthony Michael Morgan Jr., 10 months old, of New Bern, NC, unexpectantly gained his angel wings at Vidant Medical Center Rehab on December 19, 2018. After full recovery from open heart surgery Anthony was doing great and expected to come home on December 21st, but God needed his angel in Heaven.
Born February 18, 2018 to Anthony Michael Morgan Sr. of New Bern and Dakota Cheyenne Gaylord of Aurora. Baby Anthony was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disorder and arrived 1 month premature, but that didn't stop this little heart warrior. In his short time on earth he touched the lives of so many. His smile lit up the room, and he was loved by everyone who came in contact with him. He showed us that giving up without a fight was not an option. He fought for his life just like a warrior. He survived open heart surgery, cardiac arrest, hypoxic brain injury, and accomplished so many things the doctors said he would never do. His life was short, but had purpose. Anthony will never suffer again. Although our hearts were not ready God needed his angel to come home.
Anthony also leaves behind his paternal grandmother Joyce Morgan of New Bern, maternal grandmother Mary Massengill of Aurora, maternal grandfather, William Gaylord of Aurora, maternal great grandmother, Shirley Gaylord of Aurora, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family who loved him so much.
On December 23, 2018 a celebration of life for Anthony will be at Cotten Funeral home, 2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC. Visitation will be at 3 pm and services will follow at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ronald McDonald House of Durham or Greenville, NC.
