

Armando M Caparco, 94, of New Bern, NC and formerly of Rhode Island, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 in New Bern, NC. He was the husband of the late Irene (Bilodeau) Caparco. Born on September 12, 1926 in Providence, RI he was the son of the late Michael and Octavia (Giacci) Caparco.
Mr. Caparco was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church in New Bern and enjoyed gardening, boating and reading. Armando, who was best known to all his family and close friends as “Cappy”, served in the US Army during WWII and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He married Irene (Bilodeau) Caparco in 1950 in RI where they lived for about 23 years before moving to New Bern, NC in 1973. Armando worked many years at Quonset Point Military Base in RI and retired from Cherry Point Military Base with several awards as the Naval Rework Facility Painter Forman in 1984.
Armando is survived by his daughter, Donna Primavera and her husband, Stephen; his grandchildren, Michelle Cullen and her husband, Greg; Julie Dixon and her husband, Nathan and his four great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Brianna Cullen; Anna and Zachary Dixon.
In addition to his parents, Armando was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Bilodeau) Caparco; brother Anthony Caparco and his wife, Theresa; sister Emma (Caparco) Andrade, and her husband, Joseph.

Due to COVID concerns and logistics, private services will be held in two locations to give the immediate family the opportunity for closure. Service at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern followed by a committal prayer at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in RI.
