

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who at the young age of sixteen met the love of her life, Glenn, and moved from Florida to North Carolina to begin their life together. She enjoyed sewing, putting puzzles together, reading, punch embroidery, and visiting the mountains and metal detecting at the beach with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Woodard; her mother, Millie Parker; her husband, Glenn Franklin Lawhorn; and her son, Glenn Thomas Lawhorn.
Barbara is survived by her five children, Chris Lawhorn Horie (Troy), Lynn Lawhorn Rowe (Garland), Bobbie Jo Lawhorn Kirk (Adam), Lori Lawhorn Rainey (Corry Cole), Jeremiah "Frog" Lawhorn (Carol); one sister, Jane Ortiz; one brother, Ralph Woodard (Brenda); ten grandchildren, Megan "Blossom" Lewis (John), Jonathon Thomas (Brooke Thomas), Hailey Phifer (Kody Sugg), Travis Horie (Ashley), Kenny Kirk, Dylan Kirk, Ciara Horie, Payton Rainey, Valerie Lawhorn, Reese Lawhorn; seven great grandchildren, Lexie, Daniel, Layla, Baine, Carter, Savannah, and Brixley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1207 Forest Drive, New Bern. Funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Barbara will then be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
