Betsy Blair Halliday

Betsy B. Halliday, 78, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 23, 2024. Born in May of 1946, Betsy was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother who cherished family above all else. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, “Doc”; her daughter, Teri (Michael); her son, Jim (Erika Biley); her granddaughter, Summer; and her beloved fur baby, Teddy2. Betsy was predeceased by her mother, Nellie; her brother, Miles; her sister, Patricia; and her cherished past pets, Tippy, Missy, KC, and Teddy1.

Betsy’s life was defined by her selflessness and unwavering love for her family. She put others’ needs ahead of her own and dedicated her career to the well-being of others, particularly in nursing home administration, where she worked to ensure the safety, care, and protection of nursing home residents.

In retirement, Betsy found joy in watching her favorite soap operas, nature, spending countless hours tending to her plants, caring for her new fur baby, Teddy2 and creating a warm, welcoming home. Her nurturing spirit extended to all she touched, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
