

Betty loved to shop, paint, and spend time with her family. After 23 years, Betty retired from Jones County Public schools where she was a teacher's assistant and bus driver.
Leaving behind to honor and cherish her memory and legacy are her daughter, Ruby L. Whitford and her significant other, Charles; grandchildren, Matthew Ligi (McKenzie), Emma-Leigh Ligi, Andrew Lancaster II, and Harrison Ligi; great-grandchild, Charleigh Johnson; sisters, Bonnie Norman (Glenn), Lee Nelson (Bill), and Jackie Miraya (Jose); daughter-in-law, Carie Ann Smith; and many loving family members and close friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Ligi, Sr, and son, Patrick Ligi, Jr.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Cotten Funeral Home. A celebration of Betty's life will begin at 12:00 pm. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband Patrick at Ligi Family Cemetery in Pollocksville.
