Charles was a member and Church officer of Riverside United Methodist Church, Past master of Doric Masonic Lodge, Stage Director Emeritus of New Bern Scottish Rite Bodies and earned 33rd degree and was in the Shriner Camel Drivers. He is predeceased by a brother, Frederick S. Dickinson, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Goulding Dickinson; a son Charles F. Dickinson, Jr. and wife Sandy of Wilmington, a daughter Regina Crawford and husband Ed of New Bern; brother Paul Robert Dickinson and wife Pat of Hickory; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Cotten funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park
