He served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Juniper Chapel FWB Church and he retired from Cherry Point.
He is survived by his daughter Trudy H. Cottle of Vanceboro; three sisters, Mary Jones of New Bern; Ethel Ford of Wilmington; Joyce Harris of Aurora; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by a service at 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 4, 2013 at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
