

Cheryl lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to both her family and all animals, especially dogs. She had a compassionate heart and a deep belief that everyone deserved kindness, fairness, and love regardless of their background or struggles. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she never missed a birthday, holiday, or memorable moment.
A devoted Catholic, Cheryl loved Jesus and was an active member of her faith community, forming many lasting friendships along the way. Her warmth, generosity, and care for others extended far beyond her family, touching all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cheryl’s professional life was marked by dedication and mentorship. She worked for many years as a medical assistant instructor and department director, earning the deep respect and affection of her students. She took pride in guiding the next generation of healthcare professionals with patience, knowledge, and encouragement, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
Her early life was filled with adventure and creativity. Raised in Burbank, California, by her father and aunt after the passing of her mother, she grew up in the heart of the TV and movie industry. She spent her youth as a California beach bunny, pursued modeling, and always remembered fondly the thrill of driving her beloved red convertible. She carried a lifelong love for storytelling, delighting in Hallmark Christmas movies and her favorite soap operas. Cheryl also had a sweet tooth and loved desserts, especially ice cream and chocolate, which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
Cheryl is survived by her children, Ross Hartmann (wife Sybille Hartmann), Michael Hartmann (wife Stacy Hartmann), Mary O'Dwyer (longtime partner Quintin Graves), and Patrick O'Dwyer; grandchildren, Emily Virani, Shelby Hartmann O'Boyle, Hannah Hartmann, Alyssa Hartmann, Megan Hartmann, Christopher O'Dwyer, Madison Griswold, and Ava Berru; and great-grandchildren, Lily Virani, Noah Virani, Evelyn O'Boyle, Weston Griswold and Audrey Virani, and She is also remembered in spirit by her late daughter Carolann Hartmann, and by the many loving family members and friends who carry her memory in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick Michael O'Dwyer; her daughter Carolann Hartmann; her sisters Donna Wolff and Teresa DeLand; and other family members who went before her.
A funeral mass will be held at a later date.
