

Corby William Rudy, 57, of Cove City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at CarolinaEast Medical Center. Born and raised with a strong sense of duty, Corby served his country proudly as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to his work as a train inspector for Frit Railroad in Bridgeton, where his keen eye and steady hand earned him respect among colleagues and friends.
Corby had a passion for craftsmanship and the outdoors. He found joy and peace in woodworking, where his creative spirit and meticulous nature shaped both projects and memories. An avid hunter with a deep appreciation for nature, he also collected and admired knives, cherishing both their utility and artistry.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary K. Rudy; son, Andrew Rudy of Pinebrook, PA; step-son, Jonathan Bilodeau of Reelsboro, NC; daughters, Jessica Rudy of Pinebrook, PA and Emily Rudy of Maryland; step-daughter, Christine Morton of New Bern, NC; brothers, Shawn Rudy of Lewiston, ID and Kevin Rudy of Craigmont, ID; sister, Kelly Wayne of Lewiston, ID; grandchildren, Chase Hogg, Katelyn Snowberger, Kinsley Dessenberger, and Atlas Cary and step-granddaughters, Jocelyn Lee, Grace Bilodeau, and Brianna White.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Kitt Swamp Christian Church, 320 Aurora Road, Ernul, North Carolina, 28527.
