Dale Tyler Baker

Dale Tyler Baker, 83, died December 15, 2011 in New Bern, NC. Dale was born and raised in Oregon where he first learned how to fly light planes. He graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Dale then joined Motorola for a 35 year career, working principally in the Chicago area, ultimatly retiring as a senior sales managment executive. He was a long-time member of Christ Church Episcopal in New Bern and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Barrington, IL.

Dale was an avid sailor. He was a member and Commodore of Fairfield Yacht Club in New Bern, and a former member of Frenchman's Bay Yacht Club in Toronto.

Dale is survived by his wife Anne Baker and four sons: David Baker and wife Karen of San Antonio, TX, Mark Baker and wife Ellen of Toronto, Ontario, Ron Baker of Austin, TX, and Sam Baker and wife Lisa of Crystal Lake, IL. He was also a proud "Papa Dale" to his four grandchildren: Andrew, Nicholas, Grace and Emma. A funeral and memorial service will be held at Christ Church Episcopal in New Bern - January 14, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made to the Baker family at www.cottenfuneralhome.com.
