After a courageous battle of cancer, Dale Douglas Davis, 78, of New Bern, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at home with his wife and his four-legged companion, Jackson, by his side. Dale was born in Waynesville, NC to the late Williard M. and Carolyn Davis.
Dale was a Mason and was raised to the Sublime Degree on May 10, 1995, in St. John's Lodge #3 in New Bern, NC. In 2003, Dale served as Master. In 2013-2014 he served as the Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandry of North Carolina. Dale joined the New Bern Scottish Rite in November 1995 and was a 32* Knight Commander of the Court of Honour. He was the Past Director of the Chef Crew of the Scottish Rite. Dale was also the Past Director of the Sudan Chef Crew in 2003.
Dale retired from Southern Bell in 2003. In his spare time, Dale greatly enjoyed cooking and grilling. He loved to feed people, regardless of the size of the group. Honestly, the larger the group, the happier Dale was. All who knew and loved Dale will greatly miss him.
Leaving behind to honor Dale's memories are his loving wife of 32 years, Jacqueline Davis.
Dale is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Leopard and her husband, Thomas.
Jackie would like to thank Dale's caregivers, hospice staff, friends, and family for all of the support, care, and kindness.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 5, 2025, at New Bern Memorial under the Pavillion. Rev. Jeremy Slagle is officiating the service. Military honors and Masonic Rites will follow the service.
