Sorry for your loss. I remember her from the hospital in New Bern. Awesome person. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

To my sweet sister in Christ, Mary Katherine,
I never had the privilege of meeting your precious mother, but I have the honor of knowing you. Because I know the daughter she left behind, I can only imagine how beautiful her spirit must have been.
In you, I see a woman of incredible strength and courage—someone who trusts deeply in our Heavenly Father. You are a living, breathing testimony of His grace. As you’ve shared your journey with me, I have seen how the Father has carried you, directed your steps, and taught you to lean into the Shepherd’s arms. What a stunning legacy she has left in you, my dear friend.
There are no words that can truly touch the depth of the grief you are feeling now, or the waves that may come in the months and years ahead. But I know this: the next time you look in the mirror, and even more as the years pass, you will catch glimpses of your mother looking back at you.
She must have been so incredibly proud of you, loving you with all her heart. The next time you see her reflection in yourself, I hope you’ll whisper, "Hello, Momma... look what you and Jesus did."
I love you dearly.

I worked with Jean Furr when I started nursing in 1976 at Craven County Hospital back then and she was a very good preceptor. I remember when she and Johnson got married, he was a nurse son. We had some great times working on the Ob/gyn floor. My sincere condolences to all the family .
