She was a long time member of Centenary United Methodist Church and currently a member of Riverdale United Methodist Church, the Craven County Republican Women’s Club. Doris was very talented and used her artistic abilities working for many years at Ray’s Studio and later Chick’s Photography. Doris was the last survivor of nine girls.
She is survived by her son, Ashley Smith (Ellyn) of New Bern; daughter, Cheryl Hardison of New Bern; grandchildren, Brian Smith, Alix Smith and Troy Hardison, Yvette DeSilva.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
