Dear Dylan I did not have a lot of memories with you but I remember when me and aunt Tammy came home and you were holding a fake sword. You said that Caleb and Brandon  poured mustard on you when you were sleeping so you got mad and started to chase them with the sword. Aunt Tammy got mad and started yelling at them for doing that hahah 😂 lol. I will always  love ❤️ you no matter what. I miss you and see you later cus! Its been a month and it feels like yesterday. 

Dylan you were the best cousin any of us could ask for! You fought long and hard and were so strong through it all! You always had a smile on your face. I love and miss you man! 

I feel like Dylan is mine. His courage, strength  and love for life was awesome. After seeing that big smile time and time again he became my "Handsome Face".  I was always happy to see him and his family and watch the bond that he shared with my son Joshua. You are at peace now and you will certainly be missed Handsome Face! We love you real big! 😘😘😘

Tammy, I can find no words to offer solace or grace. Loving Dylan, creating his home and surrounding him with unconditional love provided the safe haven for him to blossom. Eternal love extends beyond what our tangible world can see and takes us to a place of continuous comfort and peace. Be kind to yourself my friend, one breath at a time, one day at a time. I truly enjoyed getting to know Dylan and his wonderful family over the last few years and I have many memories of him and his sweet smile! He was such an amazing person and he has forever made an impact on me and so many others!

My sweet little cousin dill pickles, dyl, dylanator (as uncle Albert would say), where do i begin..... you and I have always been close from the time you were born on up! I babysat you many nights!! I cant beleive the amazing young man that you have become over the years....life is going to be alot less sweet without your beautiful smile always there to cheer everyone up!That being said in the event of your departure you have became an inspiration to so many through your strength and positivity, while fighting this disease and, you will always be remembered for that and of course your love of mustangs 😉 you will always be missed and loved so much. While working with Tammy, Dylan and I were able to talk when he would stop by the office.  He knew that I liked to read and was a Yankees fan.  On one visit he gave me a bookmark that he had made.  On it there was a portrait that he had drawn.  He asked if I knew who it was.  I told him, "Of course, its Derek Jeter!"  He laughed...and that smile of his made me laugh.  I asked just to make sure that it was in-fact Derek Jeter.  He told me that it was, but that he'd been worried that I would think it looked like the Papa John's guy.  To which we both laughed again!

Dylan was a big goofy ball. He never ever failed to make anyone laugh, and that’s just one of the things I admired about him. Dylan cared for everyone around him, always. It didn’t matter how he was feeling he was always there if you need him. I am so grateful to have met him and watch him and my best friend grow and love. Thank you Dylan. We will always love you.

I’m one of the nurses privileged to care for Dylan. We all competed to be his “favorite nurse.”  I will never forget him, his courage and grace, and that smile!  

To the Quick family I send my deepest and most heartfelt condolences. I know that the words of others will not give you what you truly want, but the prayers of others can help you to heal as well as the many memories of your sweet Dylan.  When our loved ones fall asleep in death, it is not the period at the end of a sentence but rather a comma, a brief interruption. God understands and feels your pain and He promises to reunite us with our sleeping loved ones in a time where sickness nor death will even touch them again. Dylan: "WHAT, she's never built a dirt track!"

I have so many memories of you Dylan; the hot water cooler in my office, Brayden and the cockroach, playing cars with Zoey and of course I could always count on you to be the other smart mouth in the group followed by your wonderful sarcasm, I Love You Buddy! You were not always happy to see me walk through your bedroom door for PT but you were always a trooper, in fact, I bet my boy is doing squats right now! My one comfort is knowing you will be watching over the kids and protecting them, especially your cousin Zoey! As you so perfectly put it "I cant wait to see her grow up, she is going to be a Tough A** Buster!" I will Love and Miss You Always!

This boy won me over many years ago with his sweet hugs and contagious smile. I will never forget him trusting  me to shave his head with such an positive outlook ... Smiling that Dylan smile as I was the one holding back tears . Such an inspiration to me ... The entire families love and loyalty to each other is where he learned this from !!! Love you all !!! 

Dylan and I had a special  bond all through 9th grade. I tutored him all year when he was home from treatments at Vidant, and when I was home from "survivor complications" from my cancer treatments at Vidant. Dylan reminded me of one of my grandsons, who is 5 months younger than Dylan.  I treasure those days, loving him as I love my grandson.  God bless.

Last fall, Dylan, Jillian, Claire, Hailie, and I were all at Jillian's house just hanging out. We were laying around listening to Mac Miller's newest album, "Swimming," and talking about which songs were our favorite ones. This was just one of the many days we spent hanging out together. Whether it be in New Bern, or in Atlantic Beach at my house, or sitting out on the beach, he always made us laugh and made the memory a little bit brighter. The picture is from 2017, at a NBHS football game, of the three of us holding hands.

I am an employee at vidant and had the amazing opportunity to get to know Dylan and his family! They are truly some of the nicest people I have ever met! I would like to share two memories. The first one is the day Dylan found out we were almost the same age it was over with. He was always asking if I was really old enough to do my job and if it was past my bed time. When Dylan turned 19 he told me I couldn’t tell him what to do anymore because we were the same age now and then laughed at his own joke which of course made me crack up. The second memory I would like to share is when me, Dylan and his mom had to practice his breathing and he wasn’t really feeling up to it. His momma said she would practice with him and we all sat there for about 20 minuets and I coached them while they practiced. We all had some good laughs that day for sure! I will truly miss Dylan and his sweet family so much. 

I remember me and Dylan would play PS3 for hours together and we would laugh and joke together, he started teaching me how to play and pushed me to get better. Even at school he would make sure I was doing good, no matter the situation. Truly a beautiful person❤️

I was a volunteer counselor with Camp Rainbow. The first time I met Dylan I thought he was a counselor with the camp and I had “hammock talk” with some of the guys in his group and we all shared our stories. The following year I was the volunteer with his group and we always do ice breakers to get to know each other. Dylan’s fun fact was always that he had 9 toes. He was so positive and happy through everything and that’s just the greatest thing ever. Dylan was such a strong kid and bright beautiful soul. May he Rest In Peace! I remember this day so well. On the ferry traveling to NagsHead and you came up as I was taking a selfie and took the picture with me. Your courage and beautiful fighting spirit will forever be remembered along with that great smile that you flashed. Your loving caring nature was a blessing in our family. I love you very much!!! Dylan was always a joy to interact with.  Whenever we saw you all for meal delivery, everyone always walked away smiling.  I brought my sorority along a few times to help with meal delivery, and they all specifically were so inspired by Dylan's strength and heart, along with the bond you all had as a family. 

I remember the sweet smile Dylan always had when he came into my room. I taught him in eighth grade at HJ McDonald.  Him and my son had classes together.  Keeping you all in prayer.

Still seems unreal. I considered you the son I never had.  Always had a smile on your face no matter what was going on. I’m gonna miss you like crazy. You will forever be loved by the Carpenters. ❤️

So glad you chose to take my phone and take selfies. Our talks were amazing and you probably didn’t know it but I learned more from you then you probably did from me. You won and I will forever be grateful for our time together.

We were heartbroken to hear of Dylan’s passing. We have followed his journey and were always so hopeful he would beat this monster. Praying God provides you and all the family with comfort in the days to come. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

Wow Dylan , we met  exactly in the 6th grade overtime we shared a lot of memories , created lots of memories an not once have you made me frown you always brought a smile to my face , you was such a happy person then we fell off for a bit then seeing you at the last homecoming game really made my day I hugged you so tightly , an not too long ago after that we stayed in touch I was just talking to you which hurts me the most I’m glad I got to tell you how I felt you was more than my friend but more like a Bestfriend 🤞🏾 You’ll forever hold a special place in my heart ima miss that smile and you saying “ man come on dude “  I love you Dill pickle #FOREVERDYLANSTRONG 💗

At times like these we realize how precious life is....There is no love like a mother’s or father’s or child’s.   May I extend my condolences to each of you.  I hope your memories with Dylan bring you comfort in the days ahead.  May you, too, lean on our Heavenly Father Jehovah as he promises “ he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.”   Rev 21:4

I didn’t know Dylan other than following him on Facebook! Seemed like a really kind and sweet young man. I’m truly sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts  and prayers are with each of you! May God comfort your hearts with sweet memories of your precious child. He’s walking among the angels, no doubt!! 🙏🏻❤️
