Edward Frankin Hill Jr.

Edward Franklin Hill, Jr., 87, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 22, 2017. A beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, husband, and daddy, Ed served his church faithfully as a deacon, his country in the U.S. Air Force, and his community in the Grantham Masonic Lodge and New Bern Shrine. His bright smile attracted people to him and he enjoyed whistling throughout the day and singing praises to the Lord. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be missed greatly.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Cotten Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Cowell officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park following the service.

He is survived by three daughters, Janet Hill Eborn, Catherine Hill Flowers, and Deborah Hill Frederick; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Ruth Gaskins Hill; sons, Edward Leland Hill and Danny Franklin Hill; and grandson, Robert Keith Robinson.
