Elizabeth Rita McGovern

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband James Orville McGovern; their son James Robert McGovern; and her parents Anthony Scorza and Carmella Cipparone Scorza.

Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters Kathleen M. Hardiman (Ronald) of Newport, NC, Diane C. Hutchinson (Bob) of Rosedale, WV and Elizabeth A. McGovern of Exchange, WV; grandchildren Edward James Foulks (Danielle) of New Bern, NC, Rebecca E. Hundley (Tim) of King George, VA, Robert Hutchinson, III and Jedediah J. Hutchinson of Rosedale, WV; and great-grandson Robert Alan James Hundley of King George, Va.

Elizabeth worked for many years as an Administrative Secretary for Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, NJ. The family lived in Delran, New Jersey for many years. She was very active with the Women’s Club of New Bern and the choir at St. Paul’s Church in New Bern. Elizabeth was the most wonderful mother and grandmother anyone could ask for.

She loved all animals and would do most anything to help those in need; human or 4 legged. She is already greatly missed by her friends and family and will be with them always in their thoughts and prayers. Please remember her in your prayers.

Services will be held at Cherry Point Chapel on Friday, March 10th at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Craven County Hospice, New Bern, NC in Elizabeth’s memory. The family is deeply appreciative for all the care and support that Craven County Hospice has provided for their mother and the family.
