Franklin Delano Dickens, Sr., 71, of New Bern, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, February 3, 2017. Known for his hard work and dedication, he was employed by Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill for 47 years.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Cotten Funeral Chapel. Following the service the family will have a private graveside service.
He is survived by his fiancee, Kathy Haislip; two children, Del Dickens (Connie) of New Bern and Amy Dickens Haire of New Bern; granddaughter, Ashland "Nikki" Haire of Greenville; and sister, Judy Stanley of Roanoke Rapids.
