

Franklin Stephen “Frankie” Parker, Jr., 77, of Pollocksville, NC, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025. He was born to the late Frank and Odelia Parker. Frankie was an active and faithful member of Clarks United Methodist Church and worked at Cherry Point for 40 years.
Frankie lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and love. He never met a stranger, always taking the time to chat and make a new friend. His passion for cooking brought joy to those around him, from his legendary barbecue to his expertly prepared seafood. He found his greatest happiness in a room filled with people, laughter, and good food. His presence infused every gathering with warmth and a sense of fun. His example inspired and uplifted all who had the privilege of knowing him
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years, Lorraine R. Parker; his beloved daughter, Christy Fillingame (Chris); his treasured grandsons, Nicholas and Nathaniel; his brother, Wayne Parker (Teressa); his sister, Wynne Kenworthy; and a multitude of extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him. Frankie was preceded in death by his cherished son, Stephen Parker, and his brother, Jimmy Parker.
Frankie will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the stories we tell, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he so freely gave. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and grace will forever be woven into the hearts of those he cherished and those who cherished him in return.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00-1:00 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Clarks United Methodist Church, 106 Clarks Rd, New Bern, NC 28562. A celebration of Frankie’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Frankie’s honor to Clarks United Methodist Women of Faith, PO Box 14364, New Bern, NC 28561.
