Harry "Trey" Logan Belk III

February 8, 2025 will forever be embedded in the minds of those who knew and loved Harry Logan Belk III (Trey). As Harry entered eternal rest waves of deep sadness began to extend far and wide. There are no words adequate enough to encompass his life and the man he was. His mark on this earthly life is profound.

When Harry entered a room you knew it, you could feel it in your soul. His presence was intriguing and potent. He had so much substance. His smile would captivate the entire room and with it brought an ease and softness. When you were with Harry you just knew you were taken care of and loved.

Harry had such a zest for life, he was a force. He lived a life that was full. Harry played hard, enjoying the finer things in life that he worked so very hard for. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, but most of all the game of golf. When Harry was on the course he found solace. It was just him and the game. No matter what course, he was going to make the most of his time out there. I like to think each time his feet hit the green he was at peace.

Harry was dedicated, passionate, and kind in every form of the words. A driven soul, ambitious, always in a hurry to go nowhere, Harry was non stop. He was extremely dedicated to his work and business most of his life. He was passionate about his work in the steel business. When he spoke about steel you could hear the passion and love for what he did. Steel ran through him and his knowledge of the business was absolutely remarkable. As an avid sports fan his knowledge of anything sports was impressive. With Sports Center as a constant in the background you would occasionally hear him express his opinion passionately especially if the Tar Heels were playing. Harry was a very kind man. His strong will was one for the ages. He stood firm on his principles, never wavering from what he believed in.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harry Logan Belk II and Margie Jones Belk. Left to cherish his memory and continue in his legacy are his children Ted Weston Belk and his fiance Jenifer Mauney, Ashley Belk and her husband Gary Snyder, his grandchildren Taylor Nicole Belk and Logan Weston Belk, brother Malcolm Belk, his Charlotte sweetheart Patricia Gottehrer "Princess Pat", dear friend Barbara Boyd, numerous friends, and we must not forget his beloved feline companion Freddie.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the nurses and doctors at CarolinaEast Medical Center and CarolinaEast Heart Center for their care, compassion, patience, and dedication to Harry and his family over the last few years.

We see you, we grieve with you, his mark on our lives is embedded deep within us. Harry loved hard, especially to his family. His love was unwavering, strong, and unending. May we all take those memories we hold dear and cherish them. Continuing to keep Harry’s bright zealous spirit alive. To truly know Harry was to love him.

May the words of Jesus bring comfort to his family as this was a scripture he expressed meant a lot to him, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.“ Matthew 11:28-30

It was an honor of a lifetime to know you sir. Rest in peace.

This is not goodbye, it is I will see you later.
