Hilton Gray Paul Jr.

Hilton "Gray" Paul Jr. peacefully passed over and departed from this life on Monday September 1, 2025, at the age of 72 surrounded by family. He was visited by many friends and family and we are eternally grateful.

Gray was a long time resident of Blounts Creek, NC. He aspired and continued to become a Commercial fisherman like his father before him. His love and passion for the water and fishing was always great. His family, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are his most cherished love.

Gray was the beloved son of Pearl Toler Paul and Hilton Gray Paul Sr.. Loving brother to Kathy Taylor, Melinda Campen, and Betty Jo Jarman. His legacy of love, strength and hair pinching will continue to live on through all of his family and friends.

Gray was the best father helping guide his 3 surviving children: Tracy Paul Watford; Hilton Gray Paul III "Tray" ; and Tara Paul McNeil. He carried his love for his son Jamie Allen Paul who proceeded him in death August of 1981. They were all his greatest pride and joys. He also shared a loving and caring relationship with his ex-spouse and mother of his children Tanya Paul Woods.

Gray was not only the best Dad. But the best Grandfather "Gray Gray" ever to his surviving 8 grandchildren and 2 wonderful great grandchildren. He will truly be missed but guarding and guiding us as always. Thank you for all the fish and teaching us how to just keep swimming.

Services of Gray's celebration of life will be held on October 4, 2025 at 7805 Core Point Rd., Blounts Creek NC from 12:30 until 2:00 pm. Bring your own beverage and camping chair if you can. If the weather prevents celebration it will be rescheduled for the following Saturday October 11, 2025.
