Howard Ernest Jenner

Howard E. “Tool Man” Jenner, 89 of New Bern, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on Sunday February 16, 2020. He was a son of the late Harry and Elizabeth Jenner and the loving husband of Barbara (Pelcher) Jenner. Howard served his Country Proudly as a soldier in the U.S. Army. He spent many years as a semi-truck mechanic for UPS.

Howard and Barbara would travel the country buying and selling antiques. He had a vast knowledge and a love for tool collecting especially wood working planes. For many years on the weekends you could find Howie at a racetrack behind the wheel of his open-wheeled midget race car going fast and turning left! In his later years, his eyes were glued to the TV watching Every NASCAR Race he could.

In addition to his loving wife of 63 years Barbara, he is also survived by his two sons; Bryan H. Jenner and wife Michelle and Robert S. Jenner and his wife Karen. Three grandchildren; Christopher, Kevin and Lauren Jenner.

Along with his parents, Howard is preceded in death by a sister; Eleanor Covello and a niece; Debra Nicholson.

A service of remembrance will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday February 20, 2020 in the chapel of Cotten Funeral Home with a light reception following services also at the Funeral Home.
