Ida enjoyed many jobs in her life, early on as a dental assistant, factory work at Lease Way and Jones Apparel Group in PA, and later in life as a “Lunch Lady” at Brinson Memorial. She was loved by all everywhere she worked, but her most beloved title was Grandmom. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Not only was she Grandmom or Gram to her 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, but she was known as Grandmom, or “G” to all the neighborhood children, students in the cafeteria, and family friends. Ida loved her pets (Lucky, Max, and Tiny) just as much as she loved her family. Ida enjoyed fostering dogs from the Colonial Capital Humane Society, in James City, NC.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, William “Bill" Beese and his wife Katie, and Timothy "Tim" Beese, grandchildren Heather Aviles (Nee), Brittany Beese, Amanda Beese (Jack), Megan Mank (Robert), Lauren Beese (Austin), Mathew Beese and Eric Beese, great-grandchildren Julianna, Jaylynn, Laila, Gabriella, and Mckenna. Brothers Joseph Williams (Joanne) and Paul Williams (Debbie), and sister Kay Stark.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her late former husband Harold Beese, and brother-in-law Terry Stark.
In place of flowers, Ida's family would like to request donations be sent to the Colonial Capital Humane Society in her name.
A Celebration of Ida's Life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Cotten Funeral Home at 1:00PM. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. In late June 2023, an Interment will be held for immediate family in Bristol, PA with a Celebration of Life to follow for friends and family. Details will be posted at a later date. Cotten Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and friends of Ida Beese.
